It's a three step process to get to the download, but well worth it. This is a small zip file which downloads quickly, but you will then need an unzip utility such as winzip to complete the download. AUTO SIZERhttp://www.southbaypc.com/free_utilities.asp If you find yourself clicking on the "maximise" button in the upper right hand cornor frequently, using this program will save you a lots of frustration and extra clicks. Be sure to tell the program to load at startup so the icon will appear in your system tray (the one at the lower right). When you open a window that is not maximized, click the icon and a screen will appear with that window highlighted, click the autosize button, and the window will be maximized forever more.
IRFANVIEWhttp://www.irfanview.com This is an excellent photo editing program that downloads quickly (420 KB). Allows you to easly resize pictures for your email attachments, correct colors, create slideshows, cropping, and the list goes on. Don't worry about the "plugins", you won't need them for your usual actvity.
FASTSTONE http://filehippo.com Another excellent photo editing program that does all that Irfanview can do and maybe more. Find it at filehippo.com, toward the bottom of the page under "imaging"
CROSSLOOP http://crossloop.com This is the best remote access program that I have found so far. Your guru friend can work on your computer as if he/she was sitting at your desk.
